The sun may be setting on the days of the Scream Queen, as women in horror no longer run away in fear as they trip and twist their ankles. The new Queens of Horror are not screamers or victims. Well, sometimes they're victims, but these ladies fight back as they kick, stab and slash their way out of gruesome circumstances. One thing does remain consistent with this new breed of Horror Queen: They are still as hot as hell, whether they are swinging a hatchet, covered in blood or, well, screaming.

Tiffany Shepis

You should see her in: Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! and Dark Reel

Why we have a fatal attraction: Tiffany may have aspired to be a Scream Queen, but her impressive list of horror film credits -- including Chainsaw Cheerleaders, Dorm of the Dead and Bonnie and Clyde Meet Dracula -- have established her as something beyond a screamer. Her ample body seems to be built for fun and has been put to good use in films such as Nightmare Man, in which she performs a full-on striptease. Tiffany is also not shy when it comes to getting naked: In The Deviants, her character Marina the Nudist bares all.

Sheri Moon Zombie

You should see her in: House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects

Why we have a fatal attraction: Sheri Moon Zombie may have been born beautiful and have the last name "Zombie" (from her marriage to musician-horror filmmaker Rob Zombie), but there's a lot more required for a woman to succeed in the genre. Her fearlessness has brought out the fear in audiences who have witnessed her go to awful dark places in films like The Devil's Rejects and the recent Halloween remake. Sheri's performance as an uncharacteristically sexy serial killer in Devil's has solidified her as an icon who has broken the traditional mold.

Jenna Jameson

You should see her in: Zombie Strippers

Why we have a fatal attraction: Jenna has been called the "Queen of Porn," but since she put the brakes on her adult film career, she's aggressively pursued a new throne as the Queen of Horror. While she was a natural to lead the cast in Zombie Strippers -- the best-titled zombie movie ever -- she is also set to appear in upcoming gore-fests Horrorween and Sin-Jin Smyth. One could argue Jenna's career in porn could not have prepared her for the demands of the bloodiest of genres, but the difference may just be as simple as the color of the liquid with which she is sprayed.
