IT'S SUMMER, AND THAT MEANS outside the office you can kiss your dress shoes, your boots and even your sneakers goodbye in favor of footwear's top-down convertible: the flip-flop. Two worth rocking are Sperry's Santa Cruz Thong ($40, sperrytopsider.com) and Sperry Gold Thong ($100) -- which, contrary to rumor, has never been anywhere near Jason Giambi's underwear drawer. The Gold's a little fancier, what with 18-karat gold-plated eyelets and memory foam. But both feature full-grain leather, molded foot beds and rugged rubber traction. They're also hella comfortable -- without socks, of course.
