Goldie Moon will Always Have Paris

The city of love swept Goldie off her feet.

Aside from Stockholm, Paris is the only city on earth that has its own syndrome. The city is ancient, and it’s packed with history, from the remnants of Roman baths to the Napoleon-commissioned Arc De Triomphe. Playboy Creator Goldie Moon will never forget Paris, and her visit to a popular pilgrimage destination.

Why Goldie Moon loves Paris

“I went in 2013 and it was during the holidays,” Goldie told Playboy. “I wanted to go there specifically to visit the grave of Jim Morrison and Edith Piaf because I truly adore their music. And also because I wanted to see the Eiffel Tower and I wanted to shop and try their macarons.”

Goldie is one of an estimated 3,000,000 annual visitors that schlep to the gravesite of The Doors frontman Jim Morrison, which is located at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery

Visitors can take a guided tour of the cemetery starting at $88. The cemetery also houses the graves of composer Frederic Chopin and writer Oscar Wilde.

To list all of the sights Paris has to offer would take months. Aside from the grave sites of rockstars, Paris is home to the Louvre museum, Notre Dame cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and of course, Disneyland Paris.

The sites aren’t all the city has to offer. Paris has countless shopping districts home to luxury brands like Hermès and Louis Vuitton.

Food is almost a religion in France, and Paris is home to 136 Michelin-starred restaurants. However, even a plate of steak frites in a random bistro has the potential of becoming a transcendent experience.

Despite all that the city has to offer, many of the 50 million annual visitors to Paris often find themselves disappointed with the hype. Goldie, happily, is not one of them.

“Maybe it’s different now, but when I went it did live up to the hype because I don’t like to go into things with expectations to begin with,” Goldie said. “Everything about Paris just moves me.”
