Riley Reid, the star of a blockbuster new Playboy Plus project, may have made her name as one of the world’s most famous adult entertainers – but few people realize the business empire she’s built behind the scenes.
You probably know Riley Reid from her movies, her online clips, and some of her more unique bedroom skills. But did you know about her savvy business moves?
Reid has a clothing brand, Eighteen Plus, with husband Pasha Petkuns, one of the world’s all-time great freerunners. Eighteen Plus features a collection of shirts, hats and pants designed by Riley and hubby Pasha The Boss. (It’s tough running a business with your life partner – breadwinner issues are always a big deal in a relationship. They make it work, though!)
But it’s not just trendy street looks – Reid is also a tech exec, cofounding the creator platforms Fanscout (search creators to follow by platform and interest) and clona.ai (virtual girlfriends based on real-life stars like Riley Reid).
And lest you think she had some sort of easy formula for success from day one — take clothes off, make money — it hasn’t been nearly that simple. In an era where brands thrive on social media, Reid’s faced plenty of challenges promoting her work.
Riley Reid, Brand-Builder
“I kind of struggle a lot with building my brand on certain platforms,” Reid told Playboy in a 2021 interview. With the exception of the platform then known as Twitter, Reid said it was difficult to post her content without being censored.
(It’s much the same in 2024; X.com is still the best place to find Riley, ahem, in full on social media.)
Of course, she’s also in on the merchandising game too. Riley Reid sells her used lingerie through Fans Utopia, and models of her, well, most famous assets are also available through a partnership with Fleshlight.
For Reid, none of these ventures are just simple hustles – they’re core to taking control of her image and setting the terms on which the world sees her.
“I feel empowered when I’m in a place where I can let my guard down and be free to not live in fear,” she told Playboy.
