Elon Musk, really…can you not?
Yes, we all know Tesla CEO Elon Musk has gotten steadily more…unhinged, shall we say, since he decided to buy Twitter (now known as X) back in 2022, going from his typical narcissistic proclamations and empty promises to a new level of seemingly Right-inspired hatred.
That said, Musk’s latest stunt makes a lot of his past gaffes—which were truly facepalm-worthy at the time—look both demure and mindful in comparison.
After the news of the second assassination attempt against Trump on Sunday, Sept. 15, Musk took to X to share his thoughts on the matter, which are blatantly unfunny no matter which way you come at it.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala 🤔,” Musk wrote in the now-deleted X post.
Musk quickly faced a wall of criticism on his own platform, with many asking him to take down the post and Musk openly resisting.
Musk did delete the tweet eventually, however, making a few follow-up tweets to defend himself that reek of a rich kid refusing to take responsibility for doing something wrong (but who is none too pleased that he’s been caught).
Naturally, Musk bought X so he could have a place where no one would tell him he was wrong, so it surely put a damper on his early Monday morning (he was up at 3 a.m. tending to all this).
Not that Elon Musk ever takes advice, but in an imaginary world where he did, this writer would advise that the billionaire consider that no matter how much you hate the Democrats and believe in half-baked conspiracy theories that are ten times worse than the most preposterous fanfic, perhaps mulling over their murders in a public space (even if you own it!) is not really the way to go.
