For countless millennials, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ plucky reporter pal, April O’Neil, is the first fictional character they swooned over. Maybe it was because she was so fearless, or that nothing prevented her from getting her scoop. Or maybe it was that yellow jumpsuit. Playboy Club model and musician Louise Bordeaux’s take on April O’Neil is amazing, to say the least.
Why Louise Bordeaux Loves Cosplaying as April O’Neil
“She’s the classic strong woman character we all want to be,” Louise told Playboy in an interview. “She’s always trying to get to the root of the problem and dig for that information that people need to know.”
Louise has portrayed April O’Neil at various nerdy conventions, but has also roleplayed as her in a strangely captivating ASMR video. Of all the ASMR videos all over YouTube, this one is sure to give you those spine-tingling chills.

Of course, it’s only natural that O’Neil became such a popular character to cosplay. The way she was animated in the 1987 animated show made her look incredibly voluptuous, at least by Saturday morning standards. Since then O’Neil’s look has evolved, and in her latest portrayal, she’s even biracial.
“She wears a yellow jumpsuit,” Louise says. “Yellow is quickly turning into one of my favorite colors.”
Who is April O’Neil?
Wherever the Ninja Turtles go, O’Neil usually isn’t too far behind. The turtles, after all, are fairly newsworthy. In the original 1984 Ninja Turtles comic, O’Neil was a computer programmer, not a journalist. The subsequent mega hit animated series and live-action films cemented O’Neil as a hard-hitting reporter.
In animated films and shows, she’s been voiced by Renae Jacobs, Veronica Taylor, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kat Graham, and Ayo Edebiri. In live-action films, O’Neil has been portrayed by Judith Hoag, Paige Turco, and perhaps most famously, Megan Fox.
