The Chicken Big Mac Is the Fried Thing You Never Knew You Needed

The new Chicken Big Mac from McDonald's.
It's a Big Mac, but with chicken. Get it?

McDonald’s, the international legends at frying things, has raised its game once again with a new limited-time-only offering – the Chicken Big Mac.

Announced Thursday and hitting stores Oct. 10, the Chicken Big Mac is, as the name implies, a Big Mac (special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles sesame seed bun), but with two tempura-battered fried chicken patties instead of the all-beef patties.

The sandwich has popped up here and there on international menus in recent years, but despite the seemingly obvious play, hadn’t made it to America until now.

McDonald’s also announced a partnership with streamer Kai Cenat for livestreamed tastings of the new sandwich in coming days.

The reactions to the new sandwich were predictably elated – because if there’s one thing the Internet likes, it’s new McDonald’s food stuff.

McDonald’s did note that the new sandwich was only going to be in participating stores and for a limited time only, so expect plenty of online hype next week when it finally comes out. (Might as well enjoy an autumn beer with your takeout while you’re at it; we have some thoughts on the subject.)
