Editor’s note: Playboy Club model Apollonia has the kind of car that makes heads turn. As soon as we saw it, we asked her the story of how she got a car that would make Barbie proud.
Playboy: Tell us the story of your magnificent pink car.
Apollonia: Yes, I passed my [driving] test when I was 17, the UK age limit, and I knew that I wanted a car. Obviously I couldn’t afford it yet, so I actually waited till I was 21 to buy the car. So I worked four years. Everyone else was getting cars and driving and I was missing out.
Then one day dad said to mom, Right? Now’s the time. I want to go find a car. Let’s go car shopping, and we found the black Porsche Macan. Had everything I wanted in. It was a modern one, only a year old, it had the sunroof. I knew I wanted a picture hanging out the sunroof, things like that, and so I bought the car.
Playboy: But it wasn’t pink. Yet.
Apollonia: Then I immediately found a place where that can custom wrap your car. So I traveled two hours to go and pick out the color first. I was just going pink, but then when I got there, they had this pink with sparkles in it. So I was like my God. I need that. When it’s in the sun it sparkles like crazy. So I had to go with that. And it took two weeks for it to be wrapped and when I saw it, it completely changed everything about the car. I remember I sent my dad video and that he was like “My God you’ve got a pink car.” My brother said, “My God, you should have left it.” Ever since it causes so much attention. I get spotted on the motorway on traveling down to London or Manchester. It literally gets spotted everywhere.
