Few Playboy models can move as impressively and intensely as Chloe Abbott, aka Chlostar. The professional dancer sat down with us to chat about the perfect kale salad, being a proud Leo, and how both the Munchkins and Kim Kardashian inspired her to pursue her dreams.
Playboy: To start us off, where were you born?
Chlostar: Yeah, I grew up in Hooksett, New Hampshire and that’s like where I started dancing at New Hampshire School of Ballet. I lived there until 18 and then I moved to Los Angeles.
Playboy: How did you first get into dancing?
Chlostar: It’s a really funny story actually. So, when I was really little, my mom would play The Wizard of Oz for me. And then the Lollipop Guild would come on and they were on pointed shoes. So, I would literally walk like that. There’s a picture of me in my diaper, walking on my toes. I just wanted to be like them and dance.
Playboy: Describe your perfect day.
Chlostar: I would sleep in a little bit, 9:30, 10:00. And then I would make some coffee, chill out for a little bit, maybe go to the gym, and then I would probably have a choreography session either with myself or with friends. Film some dance content, and then take a class at night. One of my friends’ classes. The perfect ending would probably be like making homemade pizza.
Playboy: What does ideal pizza look like?
Chlostar: I make it all the time, so it’s like a veggie pizza. I get the dough from Trader Joe’s. And I do just like regular tomato basil, then I’ll put fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. Then lots of veggies. I’m weird. Broccoli, onions, mushrooms. Everything.
Playboy: No, broccoli’s delicious on pizza. Might I suggest done artichoke hearts?
Chlostar: My God, they’re so good.
Playboy: What possession do you treasure most?
Chlostar: Probably my cat. I love him so much. He’s like my child, he’s a little orange, boy, he’s fluffy, I got him at the shelter. He was a street cat and then two days later I adopted him and he has been just the most perfect little angel ever since. His name is Bobby.
Playboy: That’s awesome. Who’s a woman that inspires you?
Chlostar: There’s so many I’ll have to do two. Dancewise I would say JoJo Gomez because she is unapologetically herself. I’ve trained with her as well, and she just brings the most powerful energy the way she dances. Like, “I don’t care. This is what you get. If you don’t like it, move on!” And she’s such a star and she’s choreographing for the biggest artists. She inspires me to be really original, and not to be afraid to be that girl and stand out.
And then just everyday life, career wise goals, Kim Kardashian. I’ve been obsessed with her since I was little, she’s just the baddest bitch. Just doing everything, dabbling in all these categories.
Playboy: What is a style of dancing that you’re not familiar with just yet, but you would love to master one day?
Chlostar: That’s hard because I am trained in everything. I dabbled in a little bit of ballroom and it still has that technique of my ballet background, but the fierceness of heels and jazz funk. And I would love to get better at that, because I only took a little bit in college.
Playboy.: What food do you reach for when feeling blue?
Chlostar: Definitely a kale salad. Everything I put in it is from Trader Joe’s. I’m a Trader Joe’s Queen. I’ll do kale, and then I’ll chop up some apples. I’ll put almonds in there, and either grilled chicken or shaved steak, or salmon. It depends on my mood. Maybe some feta cheese or Parmesan on top, with balsamic dressing. I like a little fruit, a little salty and sweet in my salad.
Playboy: What’s a talent you wish you had?
Chlostar: I was gonna say singing, but I’m actually about to start my journey on making music. I wish I could draw or paint. I’m very creative. My handwriting is not good either. That’s why I can’t really draw or paint. I see visions creatively, but can I draw it? Not really.
Playboy: What would ghost a potential suitor?
Chlostar: Honestly, just not communicating or lacking respect. Or just not taking me seriously. “Oh, you’re a dancer?” Like, I’m serious. And I’m very dedicated to my craft.
Playboy: Absolutely. Who was the first fictional character you fell in love with?
Chlostar: There was this cartoon when I was little, they were like the three spies. I forget what they’re called.Totally Spies! And they just looked so It Girl. I was like, “I want to be that. I’m in love.”
Playboy: Do you believe in astrology?
Chlostar: I’m a Leo [Chlostar flashes a Leo tattoo on her knuckle]. I feel like my spirit animal is a lion, so I feel like that already resonates, with the Leo sign. Like, I can be very powerful and warm, but I’m always bubbly. I do love to be in the spotlight, but then there’s that side of Leo that’s “I want to be but I don’t.” But that’s why I have the career I do now, performing and being on camera. I love it.
