Last year, creative director, producer, entrepreneur and Playboy Model Jackie Potter took a tour of Europe to rival Napoleon’s. Hers was far friendlier, and according to Jackie, was “an experience of a lifetime.” The tour was full of high points, but Jackie Potter will never forget the impression Sardinia left on her.

Why Jackie Potter Loves Sardinia

“[Sardinia] is just the most beautiful place I have ever seen,” Jackie told Playboy. “The water is so blue and so clear. You stand in it and you can see your entire body in the water. It’s just so beautiful. White sands…incredible hotels just amazing.”

The island of Sardinia is officially known as The Autonomous Region of Sardinia. It’s one of Italy’s 20 regions. Sardinia is also one of three islands off the west coast of “the boot,” just south of Corsica, and far north of Sicily. Since Italy became a republic in 1946, Sardinia has been a popular vacation spot.

What are the most beloved destinations for travelers and tourists? The beaches, of course. The coastal village of Baia di Chia is renowned for its scenic resorts. Cala Goloritzé is a beach created by a landslide, with waters and sands that are so gorgeous, they feel unreal. And considering everyone from the Greeks to the Vandals, there are tons of historical sites, including cathedrals and castles.

But for Jackie, the bulk of her trip to the island was spent on the beach. Visits to islands like Mykonos, Ibiza, and of course, Sardinia, were among her most favorite parts of her incredibly memorable European trip.

“When people talk about Ibiza, they talk about the partying, because the partying is crazy,” Jackie says. “But if you haven’t experienced the beaches, they are truly out of this world.”
