Why Faith loves “Zinc.” by Gallant
“Gallant sings about real life situations but in metaphors. It’s just very beautiful and he has a gorgeous voice,” Faith told Playboy.
Christopher Joseph Gallant III, or simply Gallant, is an American singer-songwriter from Columbia, Maryland. His debut Grammy award-winning album “Ology” was released in 2016. Since then, Gallant has released two more albums, with “Zinc.” being his latest.
Faith, as well as many fans have lauded Gallant’s way with words with his immersive and enchanting lyricism. In a recent interview with NPR, Gallant speaks about working scientific themes into his melancholy hits.
“It was cathartic to kind of lean on science and chemistry and biology and astronomy as just, like, a reminder of the bigger picture,” Gallant says. “That you exist within and how lucky you are to even be able to worry about the things that you’re worrying about on such a small level.”
Faith’s favorite song on the album is “Lucid,” because of the intensity of the lyrics: And maybe the cards were never in play, always just looking to fold, Maybe when we gave the universe faith, Andromeda turned up her nose.
To Faith, the lyrics of Gallant’s music perfectly convey the complexity of human relationships, be they familial, platonic, or romantic.
“Situations or relationships are very complex and nuanced and I like to look at things from both sides,” Faith says. “It’s complicated, but it’s beautiful at the same time.”
