You’d think somebody who was born and raised in the often-chilly state of Michigan wouldn’t have an affinity for bikinis.
Welp, you’d think wrong. Just ask Playboy Club creator Rachel Stubbs.
“We’re surrounded by all the inland lakes,” Rachel explained, “so in the summer, I’m always on a boat or on the beach, and I’m always prancing around in my little bikini.”
Rachel’s content is full of bikinis, while Rachel herself is full of positive energy, as became evident during her charming sit-down.
Playboy: How did you end up here in The Land of Bunnies?
Rachel: I’ve always loved Playboy—it’s such an iconic brand. I saw [the creator portal] online and I thought, This is an amazing opportunity. Plus I’ve always thought it was good to embrace being sexy.
Playboy: What’s one setback that women face and how do you fight against it, both as a regular ol’ person and an adult content creator?
Rachel: If you lack confidence, it can be hard to build yourself back up, and that’s one of the reasons why I like doing Playboy, because I feel like it helped me build up my confidence. Taking cute pictures of myself, putting them out there, and getting great feedback really helps.
Playboy: Did you have confidence issues?
Rachel: In some areas, yeah. It kind of ebbs and flows, and I feel like that happens with a lot of women. When you fall, you just have to pick yourself back up.
Playboy: Does having that sense of confidence make it easier to create Playboy-style content?
Rachel: I think a little bit. You also have to have tough skin, because you get negative feedback here and there. As long as you don’t care what people think, that doesn’t matter.
Playboy: What movie and/or television show takes you to your happy place?
Rachel: I love a good comedy, something that’s going to make me laugh, so I love all The Hangover movies. I also love my reality shows, I’m not going to lie. I love Real Housewives, and I grew up watching Jersey Shore. Oh, my God, it’s such trash.
Playboy: What turns you on in a guy?
Rachel: Communication. I’m a talker at heart, especially when I get super-comfortable with someone, so it would be hard for me to be with someone who can’t keep up. And I like to try new things, but I also like my stay-at-home time, when I can watch my trash reality TV shows and hibernate. But I also like to be on the go.
Playboy: What does on the go mean for Rachel Stubbs?
Rachel: Trying new restaurants, or going out and getting drinks with my friends, or traveling when I get the chance.
Playboy: While we’re on the topic of restaurants, what do you like on your pizza?
Rachel: I hate to sound so basic, but I’m a cheese and pepperoni girl at heart. Sometimes I’ll switch it up and do a little bacon or a BLT pizza.
Playboy: As long as it’s not ham and pineapple, all good. Aside from pepperoni, what kind of stuff do you like to splurge on?
Rachel: Shoes, especially heels. I’m 5’5”—kind of average—so I like to wear the big stilettos. Sometimes I try to get a thicker heel so it’s easier to walk. Then when I have a few drinks in me, I can strut my stuff.
Playboy: Name a woman who inspires you.
Rachel: I feel like this is such a corny, cheesy response, but my mother. She’s been a major part of my life and has really [helped] me through hard times. I talk to her every day.
Playboy: That is not at all corny or cheesy. Wrapping it up, what’s the title of your autobiography?
Rachel: Oh my gosh, that is a crazy question. [Long pause] I’m gonna say Bossing Up. It’s a little different and it’s a little funny.
