Christmas has come and gone yet again, but the festive spirit is not leaving just yet! To keep Playboy’s Holiday Recipe series churning hot, model Kindly Myers is here with a comfort meal that is perfect for the cold weather.
Kindly — who is a U.S. Army veteran — certainly knows her way around the kitchen, especially this time of year when hosting family and friends. For a soul-curing treat, Ms. Myers is more than delighted to share a comfort food recipe: animal style sliders, to be exact!
Whether you’re a fan of In-N-Out Burger matters not here. Kindly’s animal style sliders are sure to hit the spot this winter. Even better, these are instructions that anyone can follow while allowing easy adjustments on portion size.
I’m hungry. Let’s dive in!
To create animal style sliders:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (8-ounce) package of shredded cheese. I prefer triple cheddar.
- 1 package of King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- 1 bottle of thousand island salad dressing
- 1 small white onion
- 4 oz butter
- 1 TBL minced garlic
Directions:
- Brown ground beef and drain.
- Chop onions and sauté them until they become transparent.
- Slice the Hawaiian bread in half, brushing each side with garlic butter.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese, then top with the cooked ground beef before adding more cheese.
- Pour on the Thousand Island dressing or preferred special sauce.
- Top with the grilled onions.
- Brush the top of the buns with more garlic butter.
- Put it in the oven at 350° covered with aluminum foil for 20 min. Then uncovered for 10 more min.
