Q&A: Jessica

Jessica
We talk chickens, astrology, and the appeal of Anakin Skywalker with Canadian Playboy model Jessica.

Playboy model and Canadian hottie Jessica dreams of living the simple life. She sat down with us to discuss plans of building a homestead, being drawn to bad boys, the ins and outs of Celtic Paganism, and more.

PLAYBOY: To start us off, where were you born?

Jessica: I was born in Ontario, Canada. I still live there. Yeah, it is definitely pretty cold here. I like the cold weather because I can play all my favorite sports. You know, hockey, snowboard…I just love cold weather. Some days, I wish it was a little bit hotter, though.

PLAYBOY: What was the first thing you ever dreamed of achieving?

Jessica: That’s a good question. Probably moving out. I moved out on my own at 18. And I saved up a lot of money to get myself started at my first rental. That was probably my first big achievement. And now I’m going for the next big goal which is working to have my little homestead. With chickens and everything. My own little sanctuary. One day!

PLAYBOY: When you say homestead, are you looking to live kind of a simple off-the-grid life?

Jessica: Yeah. Just a small home that can accommodate a simple lifestyle, right? I mean, I definitely want some animals. And I definitely want to have a garden. I definitely want chickens. That’s my go-to.

Chickens are quite easy to maintain, actually. Versus goats, which are quite annoying. They can be little pests [laughs]. I mean, they have an attitude. And horses are a lot of work! So, I don’t know if I’d have the time. But chickens give you eggs, which is resourceful. I just like chickens, they’re great.

PLAYBOY: What makes you happy?

Jessica: Something that makes me very happy is being out in nature. And whether it’s with family or friends, I like going on walks. I definitely love the beach. Sunsets. And fresh air. You don’t get that in the city.

PLAYBOY: What would make you ghost a potential suitor?

Jessica: I would ghost a potential suitor if they didn’t have a emotional responsibility and a deeper understanding of their character. It’s definitely important to find a partner who understands their emotions, so they can understand yours as well.

PLAYBOY: Describe your perfect day.

Jessica: My perfect day would be waking up, having a cup of orange pekoe tea, and then maybe going on a nice 15-minute walk or run. Then maybe hanging out with my cat, and maybe going over and seeing my parents. Or going out with my friends and then a nice casual night inside watching a movie or playing some video games.

PLAYBOY: What’s a quality you find admirable in a person?

Jessica: A person with good sense of humor. Someone that can make me laugh and brighten my day, Make me laugh, make me giggle, and I’m happy.

PLAYBOY: What food do you reach for when you’re feeling blue?

Jessica: Definitely definitely sushi. Sushi is my go-to. I like a spicy tuna roll. But there’s this one roll I really like. It’s made with egg. Tamago. It’s so good.

PLAYBOY: Who was the first fictional character you fell in love with?

Jessica: This is a hard one. Definitely Jareth from the movie Labyrinth. Or Anakin from Star Wars. Specifically Anakin from Episode III.

PLAYBOY: What about that Anakin appealed to you?

Jessica: The long hair, and his kind of devilish smile. That smirk. It’s that kind of confidence I love. You know, even though he ends up turning to the dark side.

PLAYBOY: Do you tend to go for bad boys?

Jessica: Maybe [laughs].

PLAYBOY: Do you believe in astrology?

Jessica: I definitely do. As a Gemini, I have the capability to relate to a lot of people. I can mimic others personalities while also finding a part of who they are within myself. There’s a misconception in the astrology world that Geminis are two-faced. I don’t think all Geminis are that way.

As far as my moon sign, which controls my emotions, I am a Cancer. It’s very accurate because I am a very emotional person. And I feel a lot from others. I’m definitely an empath.

PLAYBOY: That’s a great insight. What’s a talent you wish you had?

Jessica: It sounds horrible, but I wish I had the capability of telling better lies because I’m very poor at lying. And there have been many times in my life where I had to lie for a surprise party or something, and then I have the person come up to me and say, “What’s going on? You have to tell me.” And in that moment, I freeze, and I can’t think of any way to lie, so I end up telling them.

PLAYBOY: What was the last thing that you Googled?

Jessica: Let me check…I think the last thing that I Googled was some research on Celtic Paganism.

My father believes in Paganism and I was just kind of interested in seeing the history of it. I do have Irish blood in me, and a little Italian. So, I was just kind of curious to see what the Celtic version of Paganism was all about. And it’s fascinating. You got all the different gods, of course. It’s like folklore-y sort of thing. It’s fascinating.
