As autumn fades to winter, a certain crispness comes to Southern California. Cohesive to the season, Playboy joined forces with IBP Media and North American EV outside Los Angeles. The agenda? Showcasing the brand-new 2025 NAEV Cyber Hummer.
North American EV is an automotive restomod (the art of using modern technology to enhance certain components of classic builds) company from Vancouver, BC. Since the ’25 Cyber Hummer is 100% electric, NAEV ventures into the innovative realm of “electro-modding,” where it is an industry leader.
Joseph Anderson and Dan Weikel at IBP Media — one of LA’s top promotions agencies for elite brands — were fantastic enough to connect Playboy with NAEV for a fun day cruising around the Highway 101 corridor. If you like battle-tested vehicles that are both lightning quick and wildly efficient, strap yourself in.
’25 NAEV Cyber Hummer
Aesthetics
IBP Media introduced Playboy creative producer Kimberly Hinojosa and myself to North American EV founder Jeffrey Kotulak. From there, a thrilling presentation of the Executive Edition ’25 Cyber Hummer ensued.
Immediately, the vehicle’s appearance and all-aluminum body makes a fortified impression. Of the Hummer line, NAEV elects to utilize the H1 or “Humvee” series, which is tactical, practical and iconic. From there, the modified adjustable suspension offers a bespoke driving experience.
Compared to a H3, you lose some interior space to the Humvee’s bed (larger than 8′ x 9′), but that is tough to tell once inside the ultra-roomy cabin. There’s only two rows of seating, but rest assured, you can safely and comfortably fit a family of six. This truck has a width of 84 inches, so the saloon is quite expansive.
It feels as if the driver and passenger seats — which straddle a huge touchscreen monitor — are in different area codes. Also, the entertainment system is astounding. NAEV created booming audio excellence with a state-of-the-art sound system on board.
Upon circling the Cyber Hummer’s exterior, a certain confidence is instilled that there is no physical obstacle this vehicle can’t overcome. Built extremely solid (the H1 chassis and frame may as well have been forged in the fires of Mordor’s Mt. Doom), you feel extra-secure while rolling on durable 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with R20 all-terrain tires.
As displayed, this Cyber Hummer was outfitted in grey. Still, other colors like black, white and gold are offered. Not finding any use for the truck bed? A complete hard-top shell is an available addition to the Executive Edition Cyber-Hummer.

Despite the imposing size, NAEV has shaved the curb weight here to just 4,500 pounds. For reference, a traditional Hummer tips the scale north of four tons. As you’ll see next, that 50% reduction is a key parameter of the Cyber Hummer’s jaw-dropping performance.
Performance
Genuinely, it is the heart and brains that makes NAEV’s Cyber Hummer so special.

Utilizing Level 3 Tesla battery technology, the Cyber Hummer holds a range of 300 miles when fully charged. It is also built with the ability to receive power from either the NACS or CSS energy networks.
The most impressive feature about this house-on-wheels is the acceleration and throttle response, which I’m sure you were not expecting to hear. For starters, EVs already have an advantage getting off the line compared to internal combustion vehicles, but the Cyber Hummer truly jams.
Boasting no less than 1,000 horsepower, the slimmed-down Humvee reaches 60 MPH in an ultra-fast 2.5 seconds, which rivals today’s top sports cars. When you hit the accelerator at full terminal in this behemoth, you are instantly propelled forward with incredible velocity—it’s best to give your passengers notice if going pedal to the metal.

North American EV really did their homework well to harness all this speed and momentum. The stopping power here is unprecedented. They feature Tesla regenerative braking and industry-leading Brembo calipers. Of course, it’s always “safety first” when moving through space and time at annihilating rates like this.
Equipped with 4×4 off-road capabilities and 1,000 lbs/ft of torque, there is no challenge that the Cyber Hummer can’t tackle.
