Doesn’t every girl dream of having an outdoor swamp wedding one day? Well, you would if you were either Princess Fiona from Shrek or “Summertime Sadness” singer Lana Del Rey.
Del Rey tied the knot amid some seriously Shrek vibes with alligator and wildlife swamp tour guide Jeremy Dufrene on Sept. 26, according to these photos first obtained by the Daily Mail.
Arthur’s Airboat Tours docks in Louisiana, where Dufrene works as a boat captain, was the venue for the whimsical wedding, as reported by E! News.
The pop singer wore a classic white lace bridal gown adorned with romantic, fluttery sleeves. Her hair was swooped into a side ponytail that was draped over her shoulder as she walked down the aisle. Furthermore, the curly ponytail was tied with a light blue ribbon—which was most likely her bridal “something blue.”
On the other hand, the groom said “I do” in a dark gray suit, white shirt, and brown dress shoes.
The pair obtained their marriage license in Lafourche Parish on Sept. 23 just three days before the wedding, which was confirmed by the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court to People.
The Relationship History of Lana Del Rey and Jeremy Dufrene
So, when did this relationship kick off?
Romance gossip about Del Rey and Dufrene started when they were spotted at the Reading Festival in England, engaging in some serious PDA. However, the couple has apparently known each other for years, according to E!.
In 2019, Del Rey shared a post on Facebook that included photos of herself riding on a boat with the alligator expert and tour boat captain. The caption read: “Jeremy lemme be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours.”
Additionally, this past summer, Del Rey posted a picture with Dufrene on her Instagram account with the caption, “Family w my guy @jeremy.dufrene.”
The swamp tour guide is a father of three, as reported by E!.
“Jeremy decided that life at a chemical plant working seven days a week and shrimping on vacation days was not his calling. After a little convincing by his family, he got his captain’s license and started running tours,” it says on Dufrene’s “Meet The Crew” profile on the Arthur’s Airboat Tours website. “Jeremy’s a great airboat captain and loves interacting with wildlife & customers,” his bio adds.
