What’s the most frightening mutant ability? Magneto destroying a high security prison with two marbles puts his powers pretty high up there. But the man just isn’t sword-smart, like the fan-favorite mutant Psylocke. Playboy Club creator Jess Meow’s take on the heroine, like Psylocke herself, is totally mind boggling.

Why Jess Meow Loves Psylocke
“She has a fascinating back story, a lust for battle like Wolverine, ninja abilities, and can turn her psychic abilities into freakin’ swords!” Jess Meow told PLAYBOY. “And on top of that she’s smoking hot. She has a warrior’s soul and a complicated and unique history. She can be a bit cold but has this very deep, motherly side towards her team of misfits.”
Jess Meow’s Psylocke cosplay is an eye-catching leather-clad number, which is oh so appropriate for just about all official members of the X-Men. She accessorizes beautifully with armbands, a red silk sash, and of course, a freakin’ sword. Gorgeous as Jess and the character she’s cosplaying as are, the Playboy Club creator model believes Psylocke is one of the characters that makes the X-Men so popular.
“Sometimes, the person, the physical self we are born with doesn’t always define us,” Jess says. “The way she uses her powers is very BAMF, as well. Plus Psionic weaponry, purple hair, and the Psychic Butterfly…’nuff said.”
Who is Psylocke?
The question “Who is Psylocke?” is a tricky one. The mutant known as Betsy Braddock was introduced in the December 1976 issue of “Captain Britain.” She later officially joined the X-Men starting with the “New Mutants Annual” series in October 1986. At one point, Braddock body-swapped with the mutant assassin Kwannon, which granted Psylocke her now-iconic martial arts skills.

Psylocke’s mind powers are multi-faceted. Sure, she’s got telepathy and precognition, but more crucially, she’s able to craft weapons from psychic energy. Imagine getting sliced in half with a sword forged by the mind. Devastating. There’s no recovering from that.
Aside from countless comic series, the formidable mutant has appeared in the live-action film X-Men: Apocalypse played by Olivia Munn. She’s also a playable character in the insanely popular arcade fighter Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.
