Her take on Rias Gremory is a testament to that.

Why Rina Magi loves cosplaying as Rias Gremory
“I’ve always been drawn to her cool and confident personality in the anime,” Rina told PLAYBOY. “I wanted to be more confident and I thought cosplaying her would be a start to be more confident like her.”
Rina’s take on Rias Gremory is one part fandom, one part navel gazing. As part of a TikTok trend, cosplayers are remaking their past content, usually for the better. Rina splurged on a better wig, and reshot the cosplay using her new and improved camera.
“I bought the cosplay online for very cheap but I was very proud of myself,” says Rina. “I hope everyone that wants to get into cosplay but is too scared to knows that no one starts off amazing. But with time and practice anyone can make something they will love.”

As Carl Sagan probably would have said if he ever watched anime, “If you want to describe a single anime character, you must first create the universe.” That’s what it feels like to tell the backstory of a single character. Anime is a genre known for deep lore, it’s one of the reasons fans around the world love it so much.

To put it simply, Rias Gremory is a pure-blooded devil, and a member of a very prestigious clan. She is a first-year student at Kuoh Academy, a once all-girls school that recently went co-ed. Like many high-class devils, Gremory has the power to destroy, the ability to cast spells, and a fairly high intellect. The latter must definitely come in handy for a college freshman.
