Norway and many of the other Nordic countries have a reputation for being a little more peaceful than warmer European countries. Maybe its their prison system is built on the foundations of restorative justice. Or maybe, it’s simply too cold for bad guys to pull of any of their schemes before breaking for cocoa krumkakes by a roaring wood fire.
Compare this to America, where even mild-mannered high school teachers can turn to the dark side. Norwegian Playboy Club model Amalie Olufsen is low-key obsessed with the classic crime drama Breaking Bad. Here’s why she loves it.

Why Amalie Olufsen Loves Breaking Bad
“I love how the show captures Walter,” Amalie told Playboy. “How his friendship with Jess began, and how he changes so much. The characters are so strong, so good.”
After The Sopranos, Breaking Bad is one of those shows synonymous with cable prestige dramas that really took off in the early ’00s. The premise is simple, but incredibly captivating. “What would happen if a high school chemistry teacher decided he wanted to become a drug lord?”
Of course, Walter White’s transition from grading papers to rubbing elbows with cartels wasn’t necessarily an overnight thing. He gets help from his one-time student Jesse Pinkman, who eventually becomes his partner in crime.
Like Amalie said, the show is so loved because of its incredibly memorable characters. Jonathan Banks’ Mike Ehrmantraut could go toe to toe with criminals half his age, and he’s the World’s Best Grandpa to boot. Giancarlo Esposito’s Gus Fring is one of TVs greatest villains. He’s a delightful mix of Pablo Escobar and Colonel Sanders.
But perhaps the most memorable character outside of the main duo is sleazy lawyert Saul Goodman, played to the nines by comedy legend Bob Odenkirk. It’s no surprise the character eventually got his own spinoff with 2015’s Better Call Saul.
Like many who saw the show in its prime, Amalie still roots for White, despite his eventual nasty turn. Watching him evolve was half the fun.
“He made some really rough decisions, but he had a good heart, and good intentions,” Amalie said. “In the end, he was too egotistic for his own good.”
