The Office. House of Cards. Whose Line is it Anyway? Dancing with the Stars. All these shows have one thing in common: they’re adaptations of popular shows from the United Kingdom. Occasionally, shows that began across the pond just don’t translate to us Yanks. Playboy Model Isabella Lambourne adores I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! even if those of us stateside don’t. Here’s why.

Why Isabella Lambourne Loves I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!
“I’ve always said to myself if I ever made it big that is one of the shows that I would love to go on,” Isabella told Playboy. “I love a challenge and I think I would be great.”
The premise of this immensely popular reality show feels like a 30 Rock in-joke. Each season comprises of a gaggle of celebrities, who must live in Survivor-like conditions as they compete against each other for supremacy. The winner of each season wins a grand prize, which is donated to the charity of their choice.
This reality hit is a yearly tradition in the U.K., and recently wrapped its 25th season in early December. Among this season’s contestants are actor Alan Halsall, TV presenter Melvin Odoom, and Church of England priest Rev. Richard Coles. If you live stateside, I can already hear your exasperated “Who’s that?”
The US tried to adapt I’m a Celebrity…twice! The first season premiered in 2003 on ABC, the second in 2009 on NBC. Neither run garnered the returns these channels were looking for. Even with the star power of such celebs as Robin Leach, Heidi Montag, and Steven Baldwin, the show just couldn’t find an audience in the US.
When we spoke, Isabella had just started watching the latest season, and was reticent to pick a favorite. That said, she does find contestant Barry McGuigan charming.
“He’s like an Irishman, a boxing promoter, and he’s just really sweet,” Isabella said. “I think he’s definitely going to be loved by the public and he’s just so funny as well. I feel like I’d probably get along with him a lot.”
