Why Shia loves the original Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Shia is one of many fans who love watching Peter Jackson’s film adaptation of all three volumes of Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Long revered for his world building, Tolkien not only mapped out the entirety of Middle Earth, but even developed various languages for its people.
Real Tolkien heads know that Jackson’s trilogy wasn’t the first attempt at bringing Lord of the Rings to life. Legendary animator Ralph Bakshi helmed an animated version in 1978. It combined the plot of “The Fellowship of the Ring” and “The Two Towers” into a single ramshackled, but still fairly fun movie.
While many fans of the book eschew discrepancies between the books and Jackson’s adaptation, it’s one of the most profitable film franchises of all time. Jackson’s first trilogy alone brought in more than $3 billion. Who needs magic jewelry or dragon treasure when you’re making returns like those?
As far as the corrupting influence of power goes, Shia says she wouldn’t hesitate to put on the ring, even for a second.
“Put on the ring? Of course I would. You have to do as much as you can in life,” Shia says. “I’d be like Arwen. I feel like that would be me, in the Lord of the Rings universe.”
