Why Sumner Stroh loves Ancient Aliens
“I have a little weed, get a little high, then chilling watching Ancient Aliens,” Sumner told Playboy. “It’s my life source, at night. My mind races all day, but I like when it races on something metaphysical, spiritual, or just things that are thought-provoking. It’s interesting to just expand your consciousness and to new things like “What if?
I once thought people were so weird for watching it. And then I watched it. It was almost completely different from what I thought it was gonna be but I love it.”
Ancient Aliens premiered back in 2009, and popularized theories about the possibility of extraterrestrial life leaving a mark on ancient societies. Cosmology experts present theories about aliens inspiring various facets of culture, from the architecture behind the pyramids, or even stories from religious texts.
The show also touches on subjects adjacent to alien conspiracy theory, including but not limited to time travel, abductions, crystal skulls, and countless predictions for the future. Because of the often-times farfetched subject matter presented, the show has even been memed.
Move aside, Fox Mulder: there’s a new Jpeg in town that people share en masse whenever the answer to the question points to possible extraterrestrial meddlers. It typically portrays ufologist Giorgio Tsoukalos with text along the lines of “I’m not saying it was aliens…but…”
Sumner’s love of the show aside, she’s not exactly a ride or die when it comes to the theories presented on the show.
“Sometimes they’ll be saying stuff and I’m like, ‘All right!’” Sumner says, rolling her eyes. “That was for shock factor!”
