As noted, this is a straight-forward recipe that anyone can follow! Whether you’re well-versed in culinary or completely foreign to the kitchen, the cream cheese squares are certainly in your wheelhouse.
To create the cream cheese squares:
Ingredients:
- 2 (8-ounce) cans of crescent roll dough
- 1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese, softened
- 1 ¼ cups sugar, divided
- 1 TSP vanilla extract
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 TSP ground cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Make the base. Open one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a 9″ X 13″ baking dish.
- Mix the filling. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and the vanilla extract until smooth. Spread this over the crescent dough in the dish.
- Add the top layer. Open the second can of crescent dough and carefully lay it on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Butter and sugar topping. Brush the melted butter over the top layer of dough. Mix the remaining ¼ cup of sugar with the cinnamon, and sprinkle it evenly over the buttered dough.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Cool and serve. Let it cool before cutting into squares. Enjoy the creamy, buttery goodness!
