Whether in front of the camera or the oven, Rebecca Martinez consistently produces high-quality results. Rebecca is a dazzling model (represented by Elizabeth Leigh Sullivan and the Sullivan Agency) in addition to being a decorated chef, taking on various culinary projects around West Tennessee.

When Becca isn’t working as a head chef or corporate caterer, she harmonizes both of her worlds by running Geez Louise Cakes: a Memphis-based bakery where “every cake is made with love.” Evidently, her hyper-creativity and talent knows no bounds in this age-old practice. She is a genuine artist in the kitchen!

Between modeling, content creation, baking, cheffing and giving back to her community, Rebecca took some time to converse with PLAYBOY’s Gabriel Santiago. Follow along as the two cover topics from her past, present and future.

PLAYBOY: Let’s start at the beginning—where were you born & raised?

Rebecca Martinez: I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee’s Whitehaven area. I lived there with my mother and stepfather.

PLAYBOY: What was your upbringing like?

Rebecca Martinez: I grew up in a household of seven children, and as the baby girl, I always had plenty of personalities around me to learn from and be inspired by.

PLAYBOY: You boast brilliant talent across several industries. Tell me about Geez Louise Cakes.

Rebecca Martinez: I started my cake business as a way to showcase my creativity and bring other people’s ideas to life. My goal with every order is to treat it as if I were designing a cake for myself—ensuring attention to detail, quality and a personal touch in everything I create.

PLAYBOY: How did you initially find passion in baking?

Rebecca Martinez: From my mother, Linda Calcote. Despite her disability, she never let it stop her from doing what she loved—creating cakes. Watching her inspired me to follow in her footsteps and turn my passion into something that brings joy to others.

PLAYBOY: Your creative direction is incredible. When designing these cakes, what is your process like?

Rebecca Martinez: My process starts with getting to know my clients—their likes, dislikes, and vision for their cake. I aim to build a relationship based on trust so they feel confident that I can bring their ideas to life. Personally, I ensure I’m in the right creative mindset before beginning any project. I follow a two-day process: the first day is dedicated to baking, and the second day is when I transform the cake into a unique masterpiece.

PLAYBOY: Moving over to modeling, what is it about being on camera that really lights your fire?

Rebecca Martinez: It gives me an opportunity to inspire others. I want to show people that with dedication and drive, they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

While I appreciate the external beauty that modeling highlights, I believe that true beauty shines from within, and that’s what I strive to reflect in every shoot.

PLAYBOY: How did you get into modeling, and how did you first connect with Elizabeth Sullivan?

Rebecca Martinez: Originally, I wanted to become an MMA ring girl, so I reached out to the Sullivan Agency, and from there, everything just fell into place. That opportunity opened doors for me in the modeling industry, and the rest is history!

PLAYBOY: Switching gears, February is Black History Month! What does that mean to you?

Rebecca Martinez: For me, Black History Month is an annual celebration of progress, resilience, and achievement. It’s a time to reflect not only on the historical contributions of Black leaders but also on the personal milestones that I have reached. It’s about celebrating our collective accomplishments and continuing to push forward with pride.

PLAYBOY: In your opinion, what are the top aspects about living in Memphis aka “Grind City”?

Rebecca Martinez: Memphis is often misunderstood based on what is portrayed in the media, but there’s so much more to this city. It’s full of hidden talent, culture and creativity. I consider myself a part of that because, through my work, people often assume I’m from a larger city like Atlanta. They’re always surprised when I tell them I’m from Memphis, but to me, that just proves that no matter where you come from, success is possible. Memphis breeds stars!

PLAYBOY: Going forward, what can PLAYBOY readers expect to see from you?

Rebecca Martinez: Readers can expect me to continue striving for excellence, pushing myself to new heights, and helping others achieve their goals along the way. I’m also excited to launch my food truck, a project dedicated to my mother’s legacy. My goal is to show that women can succeed in any industry—whether it’s business, modeling, or entrepreneurship.
