Apple Intelligence Makes Its Debut at Glowtime Event

The Apple “It’s Glowtime” announcement teased early Monday turns out to be the new Action button in the iPhone 16 line, among other innovations. In all, the September 2024 Apple Event packed plenty of new gadgets, including the iPhone 16, which is powered by AI.

The event opened touching on Apple’s accessibility features across its products including Apple Watch, iPhone, and iPad. What followed was a series of product reveals.

Apple Watch Series 10

• Boasts the largest display in Apple’s line of smart watches yet. Its new bigger screen is 40% brighter than previous models thanks to the OLED display.
• This will be the first line with an aluminum finish. Available in Jet Black, Rose Gold, and Silver Aluminum finishes. Models with Titanium finishes are also available.
• For the first time, you’ll be able to play podcasts and music directly from the watch itself.
• A larger, more efficient coil charges Apple Watch faster than ever.
• The manufacturing of this watch is carbon neutral.
• New accelerometer may be able to assist in monitoring everything from ovulation cycles to detecting sleep apnea.
• New built-in depth gauge and temperature monitor makes Series 10 great for water activities like snorkeling and surfing. A new app monitors tides all over the world.
• Starting at $399, available September 20.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 Updates

• New modeling tools designed a set of pods built to be comfortable in most ears.

• Nod (yes) or shake your head (no) to respond to Siri commands.
• Charging base powered by USB-C. Delivers up to 30 hours of battery life. Qi charging compatibe.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 Updates

• Features to assist the 1.5 billion people living with hearing loss.
• Hearing Protection provides passive noise reduction that reduces intermittent noise across environments.
• An integrated clinical hearing loss test that maps out hearing profiles, stored privately in the Health app.
• Findings from the tests are integrated into your daily hearing, including movies, music, and phone calls.
• Testing features pending FDA approval.

iPhone 16

• This generation is the first built with Apple Intelligence—Apple’s AI tech—from the ground up.
• New look, made from aerospace-grade aluminum. Water and dust-resistant. 50% tougher than previous models.
