Editor’s Note: This helpful primer on mental health was written by Playboy model actress, producer, mental health counselor and Playboy model Aubri Ebony.
Aubri Ebony here. I have a Masters Degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling with over 1,000 Clinical Hours towards licensure. I currently use my degree to provide mental health guidance and support to models. I’m also a full time commercial print model, rising executive producer, and actress. With all that I balance, mental health is a top priority. Let me share my secrets with you.
1. Rest and Hydrate…But You Knew That Already
Let’s be honest. How much sleep did you get last night? Was it less than my recommended nine hours? Then you didn’t get enough sleep. Today, we consume so much media. Between doom scrolling on apps or binge watching a show, our minds are constantly taking in information – and do we ever get a break?
Did you peep the terminology? “Doom scrolling.” “Binge watching.” Since when did binging become a casual norm, and why are we so regularly putting ourselves through doom? Top that with the economy, work, and trying to eat right…you need a break. Put the phone down, turn the TV off, drink a glass of water, and get to bed early. You need your beauty rest, babe. Nine hours. I said so.

2. Meditation
Hear me out! Meditating doesn’t have to be as taboo as people make it. Imagine an insane day where nothing is going right. You get home and things are still not going how you’d like them to. Now, you’re sitting on your couch with calming music playing. Imagine yourself disconnecting from all the external stimuli and taking time to create a moment of peace for you. That’s my explanation of meditation.
Meditation helps to manage anxiety and anger, reduces stress, improves mood, and can improve focus. Are you too busy to meditate? Meditate for 15 minutes in the morning before you get out of bed. Or maybe you can meditate with me?
3. Frequencies
You may or may not vibe on the same frequency as someone, which isn’t too different from how I like to use frequencies. I use frequencies to feel calm when I’m anxious and ease my thoughts when my mind can’t slow down. Frequencies can also be described as “Sound Healing.”
Instead of vibing in the energy of lyrics like “I bust the windows out your car” or before “digging my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive” pops up as a thought, try the sound healing frequency: 417Hz.
It’s part of the Solfeggio frequency scale (stay with me) that is used to reduce or clear out negative thoughts, release past hurt, and enhance the desire to create change. Are you looking for more frequency recs? 432Hz, 528Hz, 639Hz. Use this when you meditate. How? Like this.
- Focus on the frequency you hear.
- Breathe.
- Focus on your breath for 15 to 20 minutes
- Thank me later!
4. Orgasm!
It’s a no brainer. It’s pretty much a natural mood booster. By triggering dopamine and releasing endorphins, orgasms help to lower stress and promote relaxation. An orgasm gets your heart rate going, right? You know the moment. Well, that can improve your blood circulation and can also reduce your blood pressure. Cumming everyday could actually be great for improving your heart health. And don’t be afraid to use your hand…I’m not.
5. Affirmations
I’ll keep this short. Think and speak positively about yourself and not like the narcissist in D. Diary, which is a short film laying out common narcissistic traits, while telling the story of a failed romance. We don’t want that. But do remind yourself of the things you’ve achieved. Reflect and show gratitude to the progress you’ve made on this life journey. Compliment your good eating habits or breaking bad patterns. The world is already hard on us. Be kind to yourself.
- “I am deserving of love, wealth, happiness”
- “I can achieve my goals and dreams”
- “I am in control of my emotions and I choose happiness”
- “I choose to focus on the positives”
Like I told the infamous Twitch streamer Kai Cenat on our live stream, “Positive self talk, positive thoughts, and visualize yourself In that space you want to be in.”
