Playboy Creator Cam Coss is one of countless music fans falling for Chappell Roan. Roan’s 2023 synth pop hit “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” is rife with potential Songs of the Summer, but her recently released single “Good Luck, Babe!” is a catchy, and important little earworm.

Why Cam Coss loves Chapell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”

“I’ve had Chappell Roan on repeat this past month. Her song ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ is such a banger that anyone would like it!” -Cam Coss

Roan’s song has been out for more than two months now, and has climbed to #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was written with Justin Tranter, who’s collaborated with other pop princesses including Lady Gaga, Brittney Spears, and Dua Lipa.

The song is a bulwark against the idea of compulsory heterosexuality, and encourages queers to embrace who they are. One of the verses expands on the risk of regret when you don’t follow your heart.

When you wake up next to him in the middle of the night
With your head in your hands, you’re nothing more than his wife
And when you think about me, all of those years ago
You’re standing face to face with ‘I told you so’

-Good Luck, Babe

Because of its positive message, it’s become a bit of a queer anthem, with countless Tik Tokers creating videos using the song. Tranter took to Tik Tok themselves, humbled by the reception the song’s received.

“Don’t mind me, I’m just sitting here looking like trash, getting emotional watching all the videos of queer people, specifically queer women, dying for the new Chappell Roan song that I was lucky enough to co-write,” Tranter said.

“Good Luck, Babe!” is available wherever music is sold, including Amazon Music, where you can stream for one month free for a limited time.
