Amelia Rae is a passionate life-long learner, soaking up knowledge with every experience life throws at her. We talk about modeling, the power of positive thinking, and the title of her eventual autobiography.
Playboy: Where were you born?
Amelia Rae: Rhode Island. I’ve lived here my whole life, but I moved to Boston for school. This coming year will be my third in Boston.
Playboy: Did you enjoy school? If not, why?
Amelia: Yes, actually, I love school. I love to learn. I’ve always liked a school environment, and just like getting an education. I’m majoring in marketing with a minor in entrepreneurship. I thought it would be a good basis to go forward with.
Playboy: What was the first thing you dreamed of achieving?
Amelia: I’ve always wanted to be in the business field in terms of education and my career, and I’ve wanted a leadership position, like a CEO, whether it’s my own business or another.
Playboy: What are you passionate about?
Amelia: I love school, media, education. But also I love fashion. I like to read, I like modeling. I love to do that. And traveling is probably my number one passion. Modeling and traveling, I would say.
Playboy: What turns you on or off?
Amelia: I look for a personality. I gravitate towards people that are cultural and smart. Chivalry is a big thing for me, things like that. So anybody that’s not chivalrous or well rounded, turn off.
Playboy: What people inspire you, and why?
Amelia: I find inspiration in all those who surround me. Whether it’s professors and classmates, or friends and family, I admire those who defy the ordinary and chase success.
Playboy: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten so far?
Amelia: The greatest advice I’ve received comes from one of my favorite books, “The Magic of Thinking Big,” by David J. Schwartz, specifically the quote, “Those who believe they can move mountains, do. Those who believe they can’t, cannot.” I believe that success comes from positive thinking and believing that one can achieve their dreams, no matter the size. Anything is attainable when fear is replaced with confidence.
Playboy: What would the title of your autobiography be?
Amelia: “Thinking About It.”
Playboy: Tell us about your modeling journey.
Amelia: Ever since I was little, I’ve always been very comfortable in front of a camera. And then once I got to elementary school, I started doing some photo shoots, on through middle school and high school.
I stopped during my awkward years, but then since being in college, I picked it back up again, and now it’s better than ever.
Playboy: What are your favorite places you’ve traveled to?
Amelia: I just came back from Spain a week ago, so maybe Spain or Greece. But my favorite spot is Aruba. At least once a year, my family and my friends will go to Aruba. It’s the most nostalgic and the best girls trip yearly.
