Playboy Club model Adela Tonte chats with Playboy about her love of travel and new experiences, her turn-ons and turn-offs, and what Playboy means to her.

Playboy: What’s a topic or cause you’re really passionate about?

Adela: My passions run deep and are rooted in a genuine love for discovery. I’m drawn to the world of poetry and reading because they open my mind to new ideas and emotions. Constantly fascinated by exploring new cultures and places—each journey reveals something unique and enriching. I find so much purpose in helping people, especially when I travel, because there’s a profound connection that comes from sharing experiences and giving back.

But what really drives me is the art of living. I see beauty in everything—whether it’s a painting in a gallery, a thought-provoking museum exhibit, or even something as simple as the vastness of nature or the resilience found in poverty. For me, life is full of hidden wonders, and I’m always in search of the next piece that adds meaning and depth to my understanding of the world.

Playboy: What people inspire you and why?

Adela: I’m inspired by people who live with resilience and purpose, but my greatest inspiration is my 9-year-old daughter, who is also my most cherished travel partner. Exploring the world with her has been a gift—seeing new places through her eyes reminds me to embrace the wonder in every moment and to never stop being curious. Her kindness, courage, and boundless imagination inspire me to be a better person and to live with intention, not just for myself, but for her. 

Beyond her, I’m deeply moved by the quiet strength of everyday people. I’ve met single parents working tirelessly for their children, individuals rebuilding their lives from nothing, and communities creating hope where it seemed impossible. Traveling has shown me that true inspiration often comes from those who give, even when they have little, and who face life’s challenges with unwavering grace. These people, along with my daughter, remind me every day of the power of connection, compassion, and perseverance—and they inspire me to keep building a life filled with meaning, love, and purpose.

Playboy: What are your turn-ons and turn-offs?

Adela: I’m drawn to confidence, kindness, and intelligence—there’s something incredibly attractive about someone who knows who they are, treats others with respect, and has a curious mind. A great sense of humor and the ability to hold meaningful conversations make a connection truly irresistible.

On the other hand, arrogance and insincerity are major turn-offs for me. I value authenticity and can’t stand people who are dismissive or disrespectful toward others. A lack of effort or unwillingness to grow is equally unattractive—life is about learning and evolving, and I admire those who embrace that.

Playboy: What would make you ghost a potential love interest?

Adela: Disrespect is the quickest way to make me walk away from a potential love interest. Whether it’s being rude to others, dismissive of my feelings, or lacking basic manners, I won’t tolerate it. Another dealbreaker is dishonesty—I value authenticity, and if I sense someone isn’t being truthful or genuine, it’s an immediate turn-off. Lastly, if there’s a lack of effort or clear communication, it shows me they’re not serious, and I’d rather invest my energy elsewhere.

Playboy: Where are your favorite places you’ve traveled?

Adela: It’s hard to pick a favorite, because I truly love every country I’ve visited in Asia for its unique charm. Asia holds a special place in my heart—it’s vibrant, diverse, and full of unforgettable experiences. Thailand, in particular, feels like home to me. It’s where my daughter’s roots are, and I’m deeply drawn to its peaceful atmosphere, rich Buddhist culture, and incredible food. The Philippines enchanted me with its stunning beaches, the warmest and kindest people, and the sweetest mangoes I’ve ever tasted.

Japan stands out for its blend of tradition and modernity, with a beautiful culture, vibrant cities, and breathtaking architectural and artistic design. Hong Kong amazed me with its stunning skyline, delicious egg custard tarts, and the iconic “Monster Buildings” that left me in awe. China was both challenging and rewarding—the language barrier made it an adventure, but the breathtaking landscapes in the countryside of Yangshuo and the colorful energy of Shanghai made it unforgettable.

Asia is my favorite continent—it has given me so many memories and continues to inspire me with its beauty, culture, and the kindness of its people.

Playboy: What’s your favorite thing to splurge on?

Adela: My favorite thing to splurge on is experiences. Whether it’s traveling to a new destination, trying a unique dining experience, or exploring an art gallery or museum, I find immense value in creating memories over material things. That said, I also love treating myself to beautiful, high-quality pieces—whether it’s timeless fashion, stunning jewelry, or home décor that feels personal and meaningful. For me, splurging is about indulging in things that bring joy, inspire creativity, and enrich my life.

Playboy: What’s the most memorable life advice you’ve gotten?

Adela: The most memorable advice I’ve ever received is to never give up on anything my heart truly desires. My mother always taught me from a young age that I am capable of anything, and she has always been my greatest motivator when I doubt myself. Her belief in me instilled the idea that anything can be achieved through hard work and consistency. For me, giving up feels like the birth of regret—a reminder that persistence is the key to turning dreams into reality.

Playboy: Describe your perfect day.

Adela: My perfect day starts early, with the calm of a sunrise and a quiet moment to reflect. I’d enjoy a breakfast with my daughter, laughing and sharing plans for the day. Then, we’d explore a new destination together—maybe wandering through vibrant markets, relaxing on a beach, or discovering hidden gems in nature. The afternoon would be spent indulging in something creative or meaningful, like volunteering, visiting a museum, or simply soaking up the energy of a new culture. As the day winds down, we’d enjoy a delicious meal, preferably somewhere with a breathtaking view, and end the evening watching the stars or sharing stories with loved ones.

For me, the perfect day is about connection, discovery, and appreciating life’s simple joys with the people I love most.
