She’s an English major, she’s an Edgar Allen Poe fanatic, and she lights up modeling runways throughout the world. She’s Kalena Kelly, and she’s one of the most interesting content creators you’ll ever meet.
The New Hampshire native and Florida resident took time out of her ridiculously busy schedule to discuss her love language, horror fiction, and pumpkins.
PLAYBOY: In addition to creating adult content, you’re a professional model.
Kalena: Yes, I’ve been modeling for about two years. I actually got scouted at the mall. A guy asked me to do a hair show, and was like, “I’ll pay you $350.” I was going to school at the time, and I thought, I can make some easy cash on the side while I do my schoolwork. Then somewhere in all of that mess, I got an Instagram following, and I’ve always loved Playboy, so I emailed [Playboy] when I discovered their content creator [initiative] in 2021, and then I became a Bunny in 2022.

PLAYBOY: Was your family cool with it?
Kalena: I asked my mom her thoughts. She’s always loved Playboy, and was very supportive. She said, “Do whatever makes you happy.” It’s been amazing, the opportunities. I’ve met a lot of other girls who are Bunnies. They’re unbelievably sweet. It’s insane also how many different walks of life all these Bunnies [come from]. One of my Bunny friends is a nurse. You get to meet all these people who didn’t just [follow] one career path.
PLAYBOY: What have you been obsessing over these days?
Kalena: I cook a lot, and I’m all about the Food Network. Lately I’ve been into baking with pumpkin. Just the smell alone, oh my goodness.
PLAYBOY: In terms of your content, you’re a chameleon: Different looks, different vibes, different clothes. Is that by design?
Kalena: A lot of it is people asking me to look a certain way for specific shoots, but I do have a lot of content that I’ve [designed and produced] myself. For instance, the wigs were my decision, as well as my Halloween posts. That’s all me. I’m a nerd.
PLAYBOY: If you’re a nerd—and I mean this with the utmost affection and admiration—you’re probably a gamer.
Kalena: Totally. My favorite video game ever would be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. I don’t like playing games where I have to shoot someone who’s talking into me on a mic. I don’t like hearing someone get mad when I kill them. I’d rather attack a zombie, because there’s no guilt. They’re technically not people anymore.
PLAYBOY: What is the first thing you dreamed of achieving?
Kalena: Graduating college. Once I realized college was a thing, I was like, I’m going to ace that. I’ve always been an overachiever, and I [often] preferred studying over going out to a party. I wanted to have the good grades, and I liked winning the awards, and I loved getting on that stage and being handed an honors with distinction thing.
PLAYBOY: You’re an English major. Are you more of a reader or a writer?
Kalena: Both! I wrote a non-fiction history book called Kingston, New Hampshire, which was published when I was 18. I’m also a poet; I was published in a book last year. In terms of reading, I bounce from genre to genre, but I’m not gonna lie: I love horror books the most. My favorite poet is Edgar Allan Poe, and most of the books [on my shelf] are by Stephen King.

PLAYBOY: Finally, the classic Playboy question: What turns you on and off in a partner?
Kalena: Good hygiene is my number one turn on, and food is number two. If you smell bad and don’t feed me, it ain’t happening. Also, my love language is touch. If you’re touchy, and you feed me, and you smell good, we’re gonna get married. As far as my turnoff, a lot of men don’t know how to give girls [proper] attention and respect. If you can’t understand that I’m awesome, maybe let’s not. [Laughs] I don’t want you to be obsessed with me, but I do want you to know that I’m fantastic.
