Your Body, Your Vote: Debate Time for Trump vs. Harris

Donald Trump faces off with Kamala Harris in a digital illustration.
It's debate time for Kamala Harris vs. Donald Trump, and the only question is how outrageous it'll get.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you may have heard that it’s debate time for Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump, who will face off in the first* presidential debate of the 2024 cycle at 9 p.m. ET on ABC on Tuesday Sept. 10.

(Yes, we know it’s not technically the first presidential debate, since President Joe Biden and Donald Trump debated in June. But, uh, we all know how that went … and now Kamala Harris vs. Trump is the real deal.)

Trump and Harris will debate for 90 minutes live from Philadelphia, with ABC’s David Muir and Linsey Davis moderating. Only the candidate who is speaking in response to a question will have a live mic, and only the moderators will be allowed to ask questions.

Debate Time Highlights

Kamala Harris is likely to try and hammer Donald Trump on issues key to women, like abortion rights and access to IVF. (With a 9 p.m. ET debate time, hopefully the kids will be in bed for the most controversial bits.)

Donald Trump, on the other hand, is likely to double down on some of the conspiracy theories that have been his favorite talking points.

Needless to say, the partisan jabs are already flying before the first Harris vs. Trump debate.

Notorious crackpot Alex Jones—he of the “Sandy Hook shooting didn’t happen” fame—took to the airwaves recently to suggest that Kamala Harris would be on drugs during the debate.

Republicans, on the other hand, seem to expect Harris will lean into whatever position is testing best with voters these days, regardless of what she’s said in past.

It’s going to be a debate time for the ages, either way.
