Welcome to the 21st Century where all the devices are smart, and where many of our favorite pop stars aren’t even real. That’s right, Hatsune Miku’s success broke the dam on the whole concept. K/DA is one such virtual pop group, consisting of four popular League of Legends characters. Professional cosplayer Angel Vee’s take on K/DA Evelyn is devastatingly good.
Why Angel Vee loves K/DA Evelyn
“This was just a cosplay I wanted to make so I could be together with my friends, and it ended up making me love this character and cosplay a whole lot more than I originally intended to! I love how sexy and mysterious the character is, and how I felt I could embody it once everything was put together!”
The only thing better than cosplay, is cosplaying with friends. Angel’s K/DA Evelyn comes complete with the claws that make the demon assassin so dangerous. Those massive pointy weapons are also one of Evelyn’s appendages: her tails. A very thin line connected to her arms lets Angel control these would-be unwieldy weapons easily.
“I tried new techniques and played with different fabrics to create cool textures for the costume,” Angel says, “I ended up loving it. Especially the lashers, they came out beautifully!”
Who is K/DA Evelyn?
If we start talking about League of Legends lore, we’ll be her until 2030. To put it simply, K/DA Evelyn is one of four members of the virtual K-pop group K/DA. The group was unveiled at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship, with a performance of their first single “Pop/Stars.” In 2020, the group released its five-track EP, “All Out.” By 2022, “Pop/Stars” became a certified Platinum hit, the first K-Pop group in history to achieve this.
Evelyn is easily the group’s “bad girl.” It’s sort of in her nature, considering she’s a demon. She’s able to shape-shift, which she uses to lure victims, showing her true form right before she lands her killing blow. Naturally, this makes her one of the more quarrelsome members of K/DA. When she’s not threatening to go solo, she’s buying new, flashy, and expensive cars. Her speaking voice is done by Mara Junot, with vocals provided by Madison Beer, Bea Miller and Kim Petras.
